Last month, PSEN was a part of the annual meetings of our founding partners, the American Association for Hand Surgery, American Society for Peripheral Nerve and American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery on January 9-15, 2013 in Naples, Florida. In addition to providing demos of the website in the meeting exhibit hall, PSEN’s video news crew interviewed a number of attendees about the scientific highlights of the clinical programs, as seen in the video above. PSEN also recorded over 30 hours of panels and lecture presentations from the meetings. A selection is now available to view in the PSEN presentations area. More lecture recordings from the meetings will be posted over the next couple of weeks. Some of the presentation topics include:
Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine
Atypical Microsurgical Indications
Refinements in Toe Transfer
Graded Motor Imagery (GMI)

PSEN recorded more than 60 hours of panels and lectures at Plastic Surgery The Meeting in New Orleans at the end of October. We were also on site with a booth in the exhibit hall and video news crew. (You can see our news coverage in the video above).
Some of the clinical panels and lectures recorded are being turned into online CME courses, but most of them will be made available on PSEN for free to members. We’ll be rolling these out on the site in batches over the coming month. The first batch — covering blepharoplasty and fat grafting in facial and breast procedures are online to watch now!
Plastic Surgery 2012 also marked the debut of the PSEN app for iPad/iPhone®. The app allows users to view videos and presentations, read case reports and complete CME courses in one user-friendly app. The app also features the International Clearinghouse of Meetings with an option to add an event to your device’s calendar. Attendees of Plastic Surgery The Meeting test drove the app at the PSEN booth in the exhibit hall. Each tester was also entered to win an iPad. Learn who won by watching the video below. The app is available for download in the app store. Search PSEN or click here.
The Plastic Surgery Education Network was present at the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) Annual Meeting in Vancouver, Canada on May 3-8, 2012. In addition to providing demos, PSEN interviewed attendees on the clinical highlights of the meeting. To see some of the faculty from the meeting discuss the high points of the clinical program, click the video above.
ASAPS recorded many of the panels and presentations of The Aesthetic Meeting, which you can purchase access to via their site. The Aesthetic Society has also allowed some of those sessions to be hosted in the PSEN Presentation Library, including a full panel from The Aesthetic Meeting 2011.
The Plastic Surgery Education Network (PSEN) was everywhere at Plastic Surgery 11 THE Meeting. PSEN recorded dozens of lectures and panels, videotaped clinical news interviews with many of the presenters and maintained a demonstration booth to show surgeons the new online education website in the Exhibit Hall. The annual scientific meeting of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), Plastic Surgery Foundation (PSF) and American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons (ASMS) was held September 23-27, 2011 in Denver. Nearly 4,700 physicians, staff, allied medical personnel, and more attended the meeting to discuss the hot topics, technologies and latest research in plastic surgery. From body contouring after bariatric surgery to breast augmentation to hand rejuvenation to robotics, the scope of the meeting was as wide as the specialty.
